The ultimate web test?
We all want successful websites that attract visitors and bring their part in the business / marketing plan. But how do we know if our websites are doing their bit?
A simple question, ‘How hard is it to do business with my website?” needs answering. The website is a channel linking the customers’ wallet to your bank account, so how hard is it to get the wallets contents onto your bank balance.
Honesty is the best policy and you need to be brutal. Ignore what you ‘know’ about how the site works and approach as if it was your first visit. No compromise allowed.
No matter how hard to remain impartial you know too much about your website. You might get close but you could never browse the site like your customer. Even if you ‘know’ what needs to be done you might want to check with the people who use your product or service.
In conclusion, your answer doesn’t really count. It’s up to your customers to decide and those are the people you should be asking. They don’t really care what you think about your site. Customer’s simply want what they want, and if it is web based, the faster the better.
