Website non negotiables

The web has changed and technology improved, expectations are up and yes, there are services that websites should be offering. Below are some of the main features that should be standard on any website.

Clear call to action
Make it easy to do business.  Highlight what you want from your customer, show them the way. e.g. buy here, sign up here, call now, etc.

Send to a friend
Make it easy for people to share what you do with others. This is a form that sends a link to, or an extract from,  information on your website.

Call me
A simple form requesting the number and name so that you can call the person browsing the website. Imagine their surprise if you are able to call while that are still on the website.

Printer Friendly
Most websites don’t fit on a normal A4 page. Printer friendly versions strip unnecessary graphics and information, leaving the most important neatly formatted on the page.

Bookmark / Add to Favourites / Social Bookmarks
The easiest way to remember a site is to save to your favourites folder. These need to include reference to the many social networks now available.

Chat online
Talk to your site visitor in real time. They see something they like and they can interact without filling out forms or emails. You get the chance to respond immediately and win them over.

Contact Numbers
Make the number clear and easy to find. Put the contact number on the home page if that will get you more business.

Search Form
Easy to use search form to find what you are looking for.

Enquiry Form
A simple way to get information that assists the site visitor by letting them ask the question.  Make sure you put a message up once the form is submitted confirming that it has been sent.

These are a few of the elements that you should have on your site to make it easy for visitors to interact and purchase what you offer.
